New Christy Chat site, thought I would mention it Christy Chat.

20th November, 2005.

Well the World Map has shown me that I no longer have 2 readers but 27, so a good sign!

Added a new interview with Andy in 2004 with some great old photos and sprinkled in a few new photos too, plus a new Mozaik article . Remember if you come across any articles in the newspapers or magazines, please send them to me. Hope you enjoy the new articles.

Christy's new album ( 'Burning times' ) is out and sounding good. He did a few good radio sessions to promote the album and was in fine voice. He hasn't written any of the songs himself, infact he hasn't written anything in years but it is a good collection. Have to admit to enjoying 'this is the day' much more, than this offering. So put that on your Christmas list along with the New Planxty book. Although I got an e-mail today to say it had been postponed until next year??? Does anyone know whats going on??

Andy is back in Ireland for a few gigs, so that is a must. I think he is also doing a show with Donal Lunny..........don't be missing that !!! Check out Andy's up coming shows in Ireland Here !

Hear are two of Andy's songs by Nickel Creek live at the Kennedy stage. They sing Blacksmith and Time Will Cure Me. Chris Thile is the mandolin player, and a very good one too, although at times his dancing around looks like he is desperate for a pee..............but well worth watching the concert movie ! Enjoy

27th October, 2005

Well today marks the sad death of the Planxty forum, Thanks to Arild in Norway for trying so hard to keep it alive, and sure was fun while it lasted ! BUT just for a bit of FUN, TRY THIS ! Where are you?

Andy is in the studio recording a new album with the Mozaik boys. Some of the recent reviews and comments about Mozaik strongly suggest that this album is going to be something very powerful. Donal Lunny also sang in Irish in a recent gig, lets hope that makes it to the record. He has a wonderful earthy voice, and I must say I really like it alot.

After the recording in Hungary, he is off to Mexico, Ireland, Australia, USA and the UK. I am hoping that my luck will fall into place and will grab a gig either in OZ or UK, fingers crossed !

New Mozaik Article for you, Ballaghaderreen's Summer Magic

Enjoy

17th May, 2005.

Last year Andy started to play some of his older material again to the sheer delight to audiences everywhere. Tracks like 'Autumn Gold', and 'Thousands Are Sailing' coming to life after years in the shadows. In a recent gig at Vicar Street Andy dusted off another of his classic tunes, 'Kellswater'. After some 25 years this has never sounded so good. The emotion he creates and the tone he can get from that bouzouki is quite incredible. This gets me thinking of all those fantastic songs over some 30 plus years with various bands and solo projects and what they might sound like played today. 'Kellswater' for example is an incredible recording, but this new version that Andy is playing on stage these days is so much more beautiful...............If you are in Norway or Iceland in the come months ask Andy to play 'Kellswater', you will never listen the the original recording the same way again !! Anyway, enough rambling.......

New Mozaik articles, new Patrick Street Articles in the cuttings section, Enjoy !
